Vladivostok, Russia
The new shopping center “Kalina Mall” is located in the most densely populated district of Vladivostok and has attracted many local visitors as well as tourists since its opening.
In the year 2020 it has won the CRE Award, the most prestigious commercial real estate award in Russia, as the ‘Best Medium Shopping Center in Russia’.
Jura Limestone from VeroStone was laid in the wide, brightly lit shopping arcades on three floors. The combination of 2 cm thick honed slabs made of darker Jura Gold and lighter Jura Beige, designed in irregular patterns, creates a lively look in the spacious corridors. Indicating a passage to the shops, a continuous stripe of Jura Blue encloses the areas.
Again and again there are square columns on the walls between the shops, which are clad with 4 cm thick honed Jura panels. Jura Blue as the lowest panel is followed by Jura Travertin and in some cases by Jura Blue again on top. Each of these slabs was manufactured with honed edges and recesses. Together with their light color and the veining of the Jura Travertin they give the columns a certain lightness.
